Spring - Summer 2010

Knitting, Crochet, Weaving, Dyeing, Spinning & Felting

Class Schedule

Here's our Spring and Summer schedule of classes! We've got a great selection of knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning and felting classes, daytime, evening and weekend classes, all levels and abilities. We've got our great staff of instructors enthusiastically ready to assist you to learn lots of new stuff — AND we have some VERY SPECIAL GUEST INSTRUCTORS this summer that we know you'll just love to meet and learn from!

WEATHER PROBLEMS: As we all know, the weather here in Colorado can be somewhat unpredictable. If we have a weather situation that requires a cancellation of a class session, we will do our very best to reschedule that session. We've left some space in the calendar for “snow days” — however, we can't guarantee that we will be able to fit in another class, or that each student will be able to attend the session at the rescheduled time. Note that we cannot refund classes cancelled or rescheduled due to weather.

Liz Gipson, author of Weaving Made Easy, the guide to getting you started making stuff with the rigid heddle loom, co-host of Knitting Daily TVfor its first three seasons, and former managing editor of Handwovenand Spin-Offmagazines, Liz has made yarn her life. Liz will teach her Rigid Heddle weaving workshop called "Anything but Plain". See Class WS25.

Cheryl Oberle, author of Folk Vests, Folk Shawls,Knitted Jackets: 20 Designs from Classic to Contemporary, and many articles and patterns published in national knitting magazines, will join us to teach her Lace Sampler workshop! See class KC61.

And, yet more! Ann Budd will join us again for two workshops, Toe-up Socks and Cast-on/Bind-off. Author of too many books to list here (all of them are available at the shop!), Ann's enthusiastic teaching of these most-helpful techniques make these workshops just too fun to miss. See classes KC41 A & B.

More? Yes!! Donna Brown will be sharing her natural dyeing techniques with us again, so those of you who missed last summer's colorful sessions have a chance to check it out. Even if you were enrolled last year, join us for a refresher and learn more about natural dyes, extracts, mordants, fibers, and go home with a color card for reference as you start your own dyepots. See class OT4.

And yet another! Stephanie Flynn-Sokolov will teach us how to spin yarn that will not break when used to warp (!) and will look beautiful as weft, then show us how best to weave with it! See class WS27.

We have some really fun NEW classes, too! Check out the "Other Fiber Adventures" section below for some unusual fiber technique classes like Nuno Felting and 3-D needlefelting.

Do you have kids on summer vacation? There's something here for them, too! Kool-aid dyeing (OT7), Kids weaving (WS7), and how to make a jump rope (OT14) are classes for both grown-up and shorter kids.

Please call (rather than e-mail) 303-234-9337 to reserve your place in these classes. All classes are limited in size to ensure the best possible learning experience for you.

A deposit is required to reserve a place in each class.

Most deposits are refunded if the class is cancelled or if you call to cancel no fewer than 48 hours before the first class. Exceptions are noted.

We have priced our classes assuming that you will use materials purchased at the Recycled Lamb.

PLEASE, DON’T USE MATERIALS PURCHASED ELSEWHERE!!

All materials should be purchase PRIOR to the class start time in order that each student gets the full benefit of the class period.
